With the country under quarantine and hospitals filling up, doctors and nurses have been working tirelessly for countless hours with very little to no time for any form of exercise.
To help them stretch and stay physically active, professional dancer and World of Dance contestant Abi Perl has been teaching live Zoom dance classes to nurses in hospitals nationwide, partnering with the non-profit organization ‘Lollipop Theatre Network.’
Abi Perl has been dancing professionally since the age of 16 and has gone on to work with major artists, dance companies, film productions, and various projects. She has worked as a professional dancer and choreographer, on-air personality, TV host, producer, and entrepreneur based in Los Angel.
She has also been on World of Dance Seasons 1 and 2, hosted for entertainment news outlet What’s Trending, and danced for Disney Channel. She has also hosted for TV segments like Good Day Sacramento, Good Day, LA, Red Carpet events, movie premieres, and much more. In her partnership with Lollipop Theatre Network, she has been using her social media platform to facilitate inspiring programs to make a positive difference in the lives of people through dance and movement.
For most of her whole life, Abi has suffered from anxiety and depression, but these are two of the reasons why she turns to dance. She has understood how therapeutic the arts can be to people of all ages, demographics, and walks of life. She has created a unique outlet to connect to people globally to share the joy and inspire them through dance and movement.
It is Abi’s dream to build her name and brand as a public figure through dance, the arts, hosting, and as an entrepreneur. She wants to create more opportunities and build more credibility in her niche. By building herself as a brand, she can further propel her business ventures and overall personal brand to help people in the entertainment, medical, and healthcare industry.
She has been using her gift and passion for the arts to create inspiring change in communities not just in America, but all across the globe. Her online dance classes have been accessible to children and adults in underprivileged communities.
Aside from dance and performance arts, Abi has been developing her podcast, to be titled “How to Be,” where she will share her guest’s raw and inspiring success stories and life lessons in a way that all her listeners can relate to. She is also in the progress of finalizing and releasing her first children’s book, which will be about self-discovery and self-esteem. It has been a long-term goal for Abi to inspire people and bring an everlasting hope and faith while giving back to the world through the arts.
Abi’s partnership to assist people is not just limited to Lollipop Theatre Network. She has also partnered with assisted living homes, retirement homes, and care facilities for people with special needs — such as down syndrome, autism, and learning disabilities — to inspire people through different forms of art.
