To say that the year 2020 has been challenging would be an understatement. With a rising number of COVID-positive cases, it comes as no surprise that declining mental health is rampant, and stress has plagued countless individuals worldwide.
Determined to bring in the preferred definition of positive to his reach, 18-year old rapper and vocalist CMILL444 is bringing a heartwarming and joyful sound with 17 life-changing songs in his debut album “High Off Life.”
Growing up in Michigan, surrounded by Detroit influences, and coming from a middle-class family, CMILL444 always dreamed of making a name for himself in the big world. He took his first step towards that dream by modeling and acting with John Casablancas and entering the entertainment industry, taking on numerous gigs.
It was an exciting time for the creative teen who bagged multiple first-place awards at the International Model & Talent Association (IMTA) in New York. Although modeling and acting were fun, it was not until CMILL444 discovered music that he genuinely found his path.
“I first started making music for fun in my basement with a Macbook and Apple headphones,” he recalls. “I then started taking it seriously in 2018.” That was when things turned a brighter turn for the young musician.
After spending two years mastering his sound and finding the message he wanted to relay, CMILL444 was ready. Making good on his decision in 2018 and working hard to improve his craft, the rapper and vocalist decided to be a voice of hope and comfort to his listeners.
“I plan on inspiring the youth to be whoever they want to be while also promoting happiness and well-being. 444 means no matter what you are going through at the time; you are on the right path. Keep your head up and never look down. Now you will see 444Ever.”
Starting a unique blend of genres from R&B, Rock to hip-hop, CMILL444 is surfing a soundwave of his own making. To keep the wave going, he went to California and worked on several collaborations with Lil CandyPaint, which became an avenue to acquaint himself with the music business.
As if fated, he was discovered on Instagram by Thomasmbeats, who became CMILL444’s manager. Thomasmbeats seamlessly took on the role of a guide both in the industry and in the art – helping the young artist release his first album, “High Off Life.”
Already generating buzz with its brilliant sound and groundbreaking tracks, “High Off Life” is on the top of the list of possible digital monsters this year. “This project is very abstract and combines a variety of genres for all listeners. Not having written a single lyric in any of the released tracks and opting instead for an authentic freestyle message, CMILL444 shares positivity and encouragement. Through the 17 remarkable songs on the album, the 18-year old musician wants his reach to know that happiness is the most extraordinary richness in life.
