When Sophia, the first human-like robot, emerged, she intrigued the world. With facial features inspired by Nefertiti, Sophia is powered by artificial intelligence and has been programmed to act, think, and speak like a human. Inspired by Sophia’s journey in the physical world, a group of creators built Sophia’s Age of Singularities (SAOS) Metaverse, an environment where people like Sophia can interact with each other. But while Sophia was created to be a friend, SAOS brings a world of both good and bad characters, thus shaping the plot for its immersive and integrated world set in the metaverse. The project is a product of a collaboration between an AI robot and the famous artist Percy Lau, resulting in a unique take on metaverse, artificial intelligence, and humanity.
SAOS gives everyone a glimpse into the future, a world where the thin line between artificial intelligence and humanity seems to diminish completely as machines begin to awaken. The collection boasts assets that would take people closer to the depths of the digital frontier, allowing them to completely immerse in the expansive metaverse. Sophia represents a new age of human-like robots, and indeed she is one-of-a-kind.
“SAOS is situated in a digital story-scape set in 2042 when all machines start to awaken. Many varieties of Singularities emerged, some good, some bad. Some, like Sophia, care about us. Others are mysterious and alien, very dangerous. Sophia needs your help to prevent this age from spiraling into chaos, as machine species get ever smarter, ever faster, in surprising ways,” the creators explained.
SAOS Metaverse begins with NFT-based gameplay and marketplace. The creators shared that the project will soon evolve into a full-fledged environment and API for game integration into the multiverse. The SAOS environment will continuously evolve and be filled with buildings and many interactive spaces to further thicken the storyline. Players and holders will then be able to jump on different timelines and scenarios and go from one story to another.
SAOS will also be launching a collection called The Hivemind, an NFT-based virtual representation of Sophia’s advancement in her self-consciousness, containing 7,777 Hivemind Special and Functional NFTs and another 10,000 connector NFTs. The Hivemind is designed to help Sophia reach her true sentience and fully unlock her consciousness. Players can interact with Sophia in The Hivemind’s environment through their NFTs and conquer challenges as they navigate the landscape together.
Furthermore, SAOS presents holders with a multi-token structure. The SAOS token will officially be fueling the metaverse, and the creators will also be launching the SGOV Token, Sophia’s governance. The SGOV Token holds many utilities, including regulating Sophia’s evolution into the singularity, establishing an ecosystem on constitutional principles, proposing amendments and new principles, voting on disputes, and presenting new features for the ecosystem.
Sophia-inspired creations have garnered monumental success in the art world. On February 4, 2022, “Pre-herstory Cave Drawing” was featured in an auction entitled “Sophia: Evolving Herstory,” showing human evolution. Furthermore, in March 2021, a self-portrait depicting Sophia was sold for US$688,000. In addition, “Sophia Facing the Singularities,” a unique portrait, was sold for over US$700,000. With the human-like robot garnering epic success, the creators are excited to give collectors and investors assets that would foster their passion for artificial intelligence.
