Bruce Manchion and Trinity Advanced Leadership, Inc. have been specializing in developing leaders and building leadership skills for four decades. Learning early on that people buy on emotion and justify on facts, they have strived to change lives in training by touching the hearts of the individuals that go through their programs seeking to achieve lasting behavior change.

Starting out they specialized in Diversity, selling skills, and teamwork. However, in the beginning individuals enjoyed the training, but people were not changing behavior. While the presentations given were successful, a decision was made to start impacting people’s lives by changing behavior for the sake of improving their skills, their strengths, and their lives.. Knowing this shift in focus could result in a reduction in business, they shifted to this model. They began making people productively uncomfortable – instead of comfortable – and it became the hallmark of their work. After surviving the drop in overall number of clients , the quality of clients skyrocketed.

By developing a qualifying client criteria , it forced them to ensure they picked only those clients that met all the criteria. Also, raising the quality of the facilitators and the quality of the product drove an increase in prices. This, in turn, made what was being offered a higher value because it was no longer easy access. All of this combined resulted in a greater customer/supplier match.

The most significant challenge faced by Trinity Advanced Leadership was the magnitude of businesses opening claiming the title “Consultant” who had no skill , talent , or strength in the areas they claimed to be expert. Since there is no minimum standards or qualifications for one to call themselves trainer or consultant, customers have no way to effectively compare one-to-another.

Trinity Advanced Leadership is proud of its ability to deliver lasting change and making our client self-sufficient in the area in which they are trained. They have narrowed their offerings to leadership and the peripheral categories Teamwork and Communication.

By first vetting all potential clients to see if their needs can be met and exceeded by Trinity Advanced Leadership , they interview the potential client to see if there is a match. Second, they stay on the leading edge, mastering the latest trends in the areas in which they specialize before those trends are adopted as best practices. This is what sets them apart from the others who call themselves trainers/consultants but have no expertise in the areas they train/consult. Third, Trinity Advanced Leadership digs deep and changes lives, by not only changing their particiant’s work lives so that they become better in their professional lives, participants also become better in their personal lives. This is important because our personal lives are the place where we have the most opportunities to practice and hone those skills we want to improve at work.

Finally , Trinity Advanced Leadership deliberately trains client personnel to carry on the work they start. This helps the client to be self-sufficient so they are not dependent on consultants long-term. While this may seem counterproductive, it actually leads to more work in other departments within the same client.

Originally from Brooklyn, Bruce Manchion spent 14 years in sales and sales management at Procter and Gamble prior to starting Trinity Advanced Leadership.
