The latest groundbreaking online application that is expected to make a lasting impact on the influencer marketing industry will be coming from Waldoo. The online platform, referred to as a “dating app, but for business and influencers,” is set to be launched this coming November and has attracted over 1,500 influencers to date, as well as countless businesses — even before they have sent out exclusive invitations for new members.
The platform allows vetted influencers and businesses to connect through their application, make a proposal, come up with an agreement, and fulfill it thereafter. Waldoo’s 24-72 hour vetting period, which checks the legitimacy of a business and the engagement performance of an influencer, is a safety mechanism that intends to protect the interests and welfare of both the advertiser and the influencer.
“Waldoo fixes all the problems that come with influencer marketing. It brings both parties together to communicate directly, rather than never seeing business related messages in the countless DMs and emails influencers and businesses receive each day. Businesses can easily discover influencers that can leverage their audience in any market, niche, or industry,” shares Michael Barbieri, Waldoo founder and CEO.
As Waldoo prepares for its beta launch in November, invitations to apply for an exclusive beta membership will be sent out between October 1 to 15 to all individuals who have subscribed to the email list on their website. All beta users will get the privilege of experiencing free subscription benefits that include the lowest possible transaction fees and unlimited swipes for life. It is likely that no new members will be admitted until December to ensure the smooth flow of initial business transactions.
Barbieri realized the potential of establishing Waldoo when he himself experienced the day-to-day challenges of running a gaming page that has more or less 3,000 followers. Each day, he would struggle with sifting between legitimate business emails with promising proposals and irrelevant pitches that only aimed to take advantage of his following. Seeing that he already struggled with his small gaming page, he thought of the magnitude of issues that could arise from an influencer’s social media accounts with a following of hundreds of thousands to millions even. By simplifying the business transaction for both the advertiser and the influencer, Waldoo is able to facilitate it faster and in a stress-free environment.
One of Barbieri’s motivations in establishing Waldoo with his closest friend Connor Houghton, who acts as the CFO of the company, is his desire to work for himself instead of working for someone. Both Barbieri and Houghton never saw themselves confined in a desk job right after finishing school. They have both always wanted to start something together and grow it from scratch.
Michael Barbieri is confident that Waldoo will one day become the influencer marketing industry’s biggest player as it ushers in an innovative way of doing marketing online. As it continues to come up with effective and strategic ways to improve its services to both businesses and influencers, it is bound to become an unstoppable leader in the industry. With Barbieri’s eye for opportunities and hardworking nature, he is bound to lead Waldoo toward greater achievements in the future.
