Wake and Make Media’s Megan and Corey on Turning Passion Into Income

Translating passion into a career is easier said than done. More often than not, it takes a considerable amount of time before people can turn something they love into cold, hard cash. But with the right mindset and an unwavering will, creating a business out of one’s craft is anything but impossible.

Fueled by their steadfast love for filmmaking, Megan Nager and Corey Turner set their entrepreneurial gears into motion as they endeavored to create a brand that focuses on top-notch content creation. And as they breathed life into their passion, they were able to help others in pursuing theirs as well.

Megan and Corey are the owners of Wake and Make Media – a Charlotte-based agency specializing in making high-quality digital content and getting clients press in national publications. With over a decade of experience in the film industry, the company’s experts use their knowledge and ingenuity to create striking videos for marketing campaigns and then get those marketing campaigns seen in the news.

Before forming Wake and Make Media, Megan and Corey were known for creating original film content in Hollywood. Megan is a SAG actor, stand-up comedian, and screenwriter who has appeared in popular television shows on Amazon, TruTV, and MTV. She has also written and produced several award-winning films and documentaries. After creating her own content for years, however, Megan began to help fellow actors and screenwriters produce their own original content instead of having to wait on getting “discovered” by agents and managers.

Corey, on the other hand, gained recognition as an award-winning cinematographer. In addition to creating his own content, he has worked with William Morris Endeavor Entertainment and Endeavor Content for eight years as a creative producer. He has created content for prominent brands such as Miss Universe, Ciroc, UFC, World’s Strongest Man, PBR, IMG, and many more.

Being authoritative figures in their fields, Megan and Corey combined their unique skills and launched Wake and Make Media in Hollywood. Their prolific filmmaking and social media backgrounds allowed them to tackle all aspects of media production, including music videos, short films, commercials, and feature films. What started as more of a passion quickly turned into a career. Megan and Corey went from making their own content to launching brands for their friends and family members and then clients. They learned to not only create the content but also market it and distribute it.

Megan and Corey will never forget where it all started – passion. And because they stayed committed to their dreams, it comes as no surprise that they have been rewarded for all their hard work. The partners have recently opened a new branch to their company in Charlotte, North Carolina, and have begun helping clients secure publicity for their businesses in addition to helping them market their products.

When it comes to embarking on a business venture rooted in passion, Megan and Corey have shown that persistence is all it takes to succeed. They pointed out that it is not uncommon to see people starting something with a lot of enthusiasm and giving up on it because they no longer feel the excitement.

While motivation is an essential factor to consider, Megan and Corey send a powerful reminder that it is simply not enough. To succeed and reach one’s maximum potential, he or she must go on, no matter what. And as the power duo continues to expand Wake and Make Media, they have proven the significance of perseverance.
