Managing one’s finances can often seem daunting. For most of us, financial literacy is something that’s innately lacking. After all, financial education isn’t taught in schools. It’s a process that one has to go through when they’re finally making their own money. This causes many individuals to squander their finances without any plans set for the future, eventually digging themselves into deep financial burdens. Fortunately, Ryan Townsley, CFP®, is here to help educate the masses through his massively successful company Town Capital LLC.
Town Capital is a niche investment firm performing comprehensive financial planning for Nuclear Energy and Engineering. The renowned financial powerhouse has a plethora of clients all over the United States, teaching them tried and tested strategies to secure their future and attain financial freedom.
Founder and CEO of Town Capital, Ryan Townsley, didn’t always have the best start in life. As a young boy born in Baltimore, Maryland, Ryan had a very challenging upbringing growing up neck-deep in poverty. He left home at an early age and knew that he had to rise above the obstacles to carve out his own destiny and end the vicious cycle of growing up in poverty and turmoil.
The trailblazing entrepreneur served six years in the United States Navy as a nuclear plant operator. He was deployed on the USS Harry S Truman and worked in the control room of a commercial nuclear power plant for nearly a decade as a shift supervisor. Since the inception of his career, Ryan Townsley has always had a deep passion for personal finance.
So, once he obtained his MBA, he founded Town Capital LLC as a hyper-focused firm serving his peers and colleagues who also worked with nuclear energy. Since then, the firm has grown massively to serve over 60 households and manage $50 million in assets.
“Most financial advisers run for the hills when they hear the word engineer. The analytical nature of them leads to asking more questions, demanding more data, and wanting to know the assumptions behind recommendations,” shared Ryan. Being an engineer and analytical person himself, he knew there was a gap to be filled in serving the analytical mind.
Through his ingenuity and his expertise in critical analysis, Ryan gained a spotless reputation working alongside like-minded people. His services have been top-rated among individuals with a critical mindset and people who tend to question the status quo and look for concise data and contingencies. Ryan tends to value people who don’t just fit the mold but would rather break it.
“You should always know the WHY behind why someone is giving you a recommendation. Nuclear workers and other analytical type people always ask WHY, and that is why we love serving them,” explained Ryan. It’s all about having an inquisitive mindset, and with his decorated experience as an engineer, the firebrand entrepreneur definitely brings something incredibly unique to the finance industry.
Unlike most financial firms that have failed to adopt superior, mathematically-proven retirement planning techniques like front-loaded and flexible pending strategies, Town Capital focuses deeply on research-based facts and mathematical data analyses.
As a seasoned financial expert and engineer, Ryan Townsley offers a holistic approach to financial planning that many financial advisors tend to overlook. “Many clients and, unfortunately, advisers fall back to the 4% rule because they don’t know any better. There is a better way to do retirement planning. It results in more realistic spending plans for our clients, especially in the early years of retirement when they can really enjoy it. Combine that with goals-based portfolios, tax strategies, estate planning, and risk management, and we ensure our clients are taken care of in every aspect,” explained Ryan.
After seeing countless hard-working and very intelligent people paying too much money for their financial planning, Ryan Townsley wanted to build a better experience and serve the financial industry better. Ultimately, Ryan is in the business of helping people. His services have always been to improve his clients’ lives, striving to create a positive impact that will last them for a lifetime. “I want my clients to worry about their vacation, their grandkids, their beach house, not their money.”
