ThykSkynn Promotes Peaceful Protection with Innovative Bulletproof Apparel

Any new apparel brand trying to break into the market is scrutinized using the same question: do the clothes lean more towards fashion or function? Are the clothes designed mainly to make the wearer look good or to serve a practical purpose? ThykSkynn takes the argument to its extreme by offering bulletproof apparel designed to protect life while incorporating fashionable new styles.

ThykSkynn is a clothing brand with a mission to promote peaceful protection worldwide. As the first Black-owned bulletproof company in the nation combining avant-garde style and protective armor, ThykSkynn makes significant strides in empowering vulnerable populations. Company creator and CEO Michael Allen taught himself how to sew all to realize his vision of providing innocent people with innovative and protective styles.

The past year alone has witnessed an escalation of the current crisis on people of color being killed without reason. Larger society can no longer turn a blind eye to gun violence and misuse in America. Too many innocent lives are lost because of vital mistakes involving firearms. For years, the details of these gruesome events were only told from the perspective of the officers who “mistakenly” shoot innocent men and women. Michael Allen recognized the need for an innovative and peaceful way to help his people survive these attacks and live to speak their story in court.

Allen uses lightweight level IIIA Kevlar to develop the most fashionable and functional designs in short periods of time. The company does not manufacture Kevlar. Instead, ThykSkynn creates ballistic armor panel carriers. The final product is incredibly lightweight and gives customers the option to wear ThykSkynn products with or without ballistic materials in the interior.

ThykSkynn apparel can stop anything from a .44 Magnum handgun and below. Created with versatility in mind, ThykSkynn vests can be worn in various ways, designed with a custom fit, and are individually handstitched by some of the most talented young designers in Atlanta, GA. A wide range of styles are available for customers, all categorized under the Women Skynn, Men Skynn, Kid Skynn, and Apparel collections.

With its mission extending to social change, ThykSkynn has become more than just a clothing company – it is a lifestyle and a symbol reflecting true peace of the mind, body, and spirit. Bulletproof vests can never be used as tools to threaten or harm others. Customers can only use ThykSkynn products to save lives. Michael Allen makes the distinction and emphasizes its relevance to the brand’s vision. Peaceful protection and solutions to social issues are possible through individual initiative and innovation.

So long as the threat against innocent individuals exists, especially people of color, companies like ThykSkynn will continue to exist. Raising awareness for this cause is more than a passing trend for many people, including Michael Allen. ThykSkynn also hopes to promote the message that as people come together, they will develop the ability to gain leverage in their lives.
