For many children all over the world, belief is powerful. And when it comes to helping children believe in something miraculous, nothing speaks louder than a magical encounter with Santa Claus. That’s the genius behind Santa Calls, an online service that provides kids with a personalized message straight from the North Pole via online communication.
It seems that the celebration of Christmas is withering with the growing effects of the coronavirus. But one company hopes to spread the good news that Christmas this year will still be happening.
Santa Calls is an online application that provides children with personalized video messages or live video chats with Santa Claus. The idea comes as a safer alternative as the COVID-19 pandemic wipes out Mall Santas, virtually dampening the upcoming Christmas season’s spirit. Today, virtual calls have become the norm for many people as work-from-home set-ups and online catch-ups with friends have increased with time. Santa Calls merges these trends, giving kids a magical experience amid these daunting times.
The innovative approach to the Santa experience comes through the creativity of its founder and “Chief Operating Elf,” Eli Miller. The founder is a graduate of Grand Canyon University in the Colangelo College of Business. He holds a bachelor of science in finance and economics degree. Growing up with little resources, Eli knows what it’s like to be devoid of hope. Today, he hopes that his creative approach to belief building will help bring smiles to kids everywhere and warm their hearts, most especially in these unfavorable situations.
The online service has three main packages. The first is a pre-recorded message from Santa Claus, personalized to fit the child recipient. The second package is a two-minute video call from Santa through FaceTime, Google Duo, or Skype video chat on mobile or desktop. The third package bundles the two prior packages into one unforgettable experience that will have kids working to make it on Santa’s nice list until Christmas time comes around.
In recent days, the online company has created a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club. For every call, 10 percent of the revenue will empower the youth through food drives, education, and other activities to support marginalized families in the local community.
The virtual Santa experience has been more than enough to give children hope during trying times. One customer named Rebecca George shares, “What an amazing and magical experience! My kids were all on their best behavior after Santa called, knew them by name, and let them know that he is always watching! Santa Calls sure did spread a lot of holiday cheer in our house!”
Looking forward to the future, Eli Miller still has bigger plans for Santa Calls. He hopes to build the company into the number 1 Santa Claus experience all over the country. Moreover, the company is on a mission to provide more livelihood to people who can portray Santa Claus. They hope to employ and launch thousands of Santas who will make joyous memories for millions of children all over the country and the world.
