Renato Fernandes: From World Class Trapeze Artist to Dedicated Entrepreneur

The present pandemic has changed so many things in the lives of people around the world—from losing loved ones to closing businesses and living in seclusion to stay protected from the deadly virus. World-renowned circus performer and trapeze artist, Renato Fernandes, was not spared from the abrupt changes brought about by the virus as he found himself unable to perform in front of an audience. Instead of waiting in vain, Fernandes found a way to sustain himself and his twin daughters, Vanessa and Katalina, by putting up his own business.

Fernandes was the Gold Glown Winner for the 44th Monte Carlo Circus Festival in Monaco of the Prince and Princess of Monaco, which is the highest achievement for any circus artist in the world. Now the 29-year-old single father and former Cirque Du Soleil performer is in the process of establishing his burger restaurant inspired by his daughters, whose all-time favorite food is burgers. Fernandes himself has always been a lover of burgers that come in different flavors. His mother is known for her excellent cooking skills and taught him everything he knows in the kitchen. He easily fell in love with the food business after establishing a Brazilian restaurant in Orlando.

When his daughters were grown enough to eat burgers, he created a special recipe for them. The girls instantly fell in love with their father’s concoction and could not do away with it. His former restaurant, however, was already established when he purchased it from its original owners. This time around, he is starting from scratch and growing his own brand by himself.

At present, Fernandes caters to small parties and events to grow the capital he needs to be able to buy a food truck that will allow him to travel in different parts of his hometown in Las Vegas. When the time is right, he intends to eventually open his own fixed location to better serve his expected followers.

Twins Burgers’ menu features multiple Brazilian burgers, all handmade from Brazilian cut meat known as picanha. Fernandes only uses fresh ingredients to guarantee the quality of his food products. His burger specialty is called the X-Extravaganza. It has 6 different kinds of protein that include chicken, burger, sausage, shrimp, and bacon. The burgers are also topped with Fernades’ special sauce that is bound to make a lot of his customers curious.

At the end of the day, Fernandes gets his inspiration from his daughters. Despite the present situation of the world that resulted in him losing his job, he believes that there is a higher purpose for things. When it comes to his daughters, the former star trapeze artist will try out anything. Although he lost his job, he appreciates that he has more time to be with his daughters now. His training hours before the pandemic took most of his time away from his children. Aside from being preoccupied with growing his business, he is committed to teaching his daughters everything they need to know about life.

Renato Fernandes now sees life from a different perspective. If there is one thing he learned as the pandemic overwhelmed the world, it is that time spent with his children is incomparable to any other achievement in life.
