From being body shamed to embracing her true beauty as a plus-sized model, Tricia Campbell has evolved from her timid self into a confident and accomplished supermodel. Her modeling career started when she competed in the Miss Jamaica Pageant at 15 years old. A coach told her she was too “fat” to be in the contest. That moment crushed her, and she almost believed she would never be enough to be a model. Then, some years down the line, she lost her mum to colon cancer, and she had to pull all the strength she could to overcome the grief. This turned everything around for her, and she got strong enough to tackle all her fears as a model. At that moment, she started to believe that her real beauty comes from within, and no one can take it away if she does not allow them.
Her growth continued as her faith in God strengthened. She took her time to pray to God, read his words, listen to different spiritual healers, and work with a life coach who helped her unleash her inner beauty and confidence. All her experience shaped her into the woman that she is today, and that is why she is putting in work to uplift as many women as possible. Tricia Campbell is now working with a lot of women who have been put down or made to feel lesser than they are. Her goal is to help them reclaim their power as confident women so they can go into the world and conquer in their various fields. She has a private Facebook group, which she named “ConfidenceQueens” where all these women converge and share information.
Since she got discouraged from being a model when she was 15, Tricia Campbell has gone on to become accomplished as a plus-size supermodel, an entrepreneur, a motivator, a symbol of confidence to women all over the world. She has been featured on the covers of top magazines like Glamour and Essence and also, as Oprah’s stand-in-model for O Magazine cover photoshoots. She has also established her own swimwear brand for plus-size women named Glamour Glamour Swimwear.
Her swimwear brand is designed with the plus-size woman in mind, and the goal is to help these women embrace their beauty with this bold, colorful, and unique line of swimwear. In Tricia’s world, there is no space for low self-esteem, and she is using all her reach and influence to put an end to it for as many women as possible.
Therefore, for every woman that needs to be encouraged and uplifted, Tricia Campbell’s brand is for them. Her brand also targets her fellow models, women bosses, entrepreneurs, creatives, influencers, celebrities, and creative directors. Tricia believes that she has a divine light from God and that light is going to shine through her for all to see.
Her five-year goal is to diversify into creating a clothing line and makeup line. She also plans to travel to different countries to offer support and empowerment to women who have been made to feel lesser than themselves. She plans to take the Tricia Campbell brand to become a global lifestyle brand. And in her words, she says, “We are all uniquely and wonderfully made. It’s time to tap into your true beauty confidence and anointing to help change the world for the better. No matter what you have been through in your life, you are worth it.”
