The world has become a global village, and Shivangi Gupta has taken Indian fashion outside the shores of India through her fashion brand, Nazranaa. As far as Indian bridal fashion is concerned, nobody has to travel all the way to India to represent the culture on their big day. Shivangi Gupta’s store located in the heart of Edison, NJ, is the biggest Indian bridal clothing store in the United States. Shivangi started her fashion business in 2012 while she was a premed student at Rutgers University. With her father’s guidance, she has been able to scale the business from making Indian bridal wear for women into menswear, imitation jewelry, and going into media production.
Shivangi Gupta started a reality TV show and web series titled Nazranaa Diaries. This show showcases the Indian bridal shopping experience in the United States. Two seasons of the show have aired already on Aapka Colors, a subsidiary of Viacom 18, and they just finished filming the third season recently. All aired episodes are available on YouTube for catchup. The show focuses on both the bride and groom, and it shows everything that happens behind the scenes from culture to fashion and all the activities involved in Indian weddings.
Nazranaa, as a business, prides itself on its model of operation. Everything used for the creative process of making those spellbound designs is available in-house, from the procurement of raw materials, manufacturing to exporting, wholesale, and retail. Shivangi’s journey into entrepreneurship was not accidental. It is more in-born than her having stumbled into the journey. Her father was a businessman, and Shivangi used to assist him with his business when she was in college. She won many customers over to the point that they started asking to work with her specifically. Noticing her entrepreneurial and business management skills, her father helped her set up her own business, and since then, she has built her brand to the top spot in the United States.
One striking thing about Nazranaa is that an Indian fashion brand has attained the top spot in the United States. It has solved the problem of importing Indian fashion into the United States.
