In today’s day and age, cosmetic surgery is embraced by many, whether for facial or body features. Aside from the fact that it makes people look their best, such targeted alterations boost a person’s confidence. At the forefront of those who bring people’s visions into reality is Dr. Adel Quttainah, the leading cosmetic surgeon in Kuwait.
Dr. Quttainah is trained internationally. He has been exposed to various practices on cosmetic and reconstructive microsurgeon alongside the most prominent medical practitioners in the industry. The expert is also one of the few consultant microsurgeons performing free tissue transfer with perforator flaps across the Middle East.
He earned his education in esteemed institutions all over the world. Dr. Quttainah received his initial medical training at the National University of Ireland. Soon after, he completed a five-year residency program in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of McMaster University in Ontario, Canada.
For his post-graduation, Dr. Quttainah joined the University of Toronto for a microsurgery fellowship, where he dealt mostly with breast reconstruction. During this time, he exposed himself further in using free tissue transfer and perforator flaps. He also performed free muscle transfer for facial reanimation, a procedure commonly done for post-facial paralysis.
After that, Dr. Quttainah completed his aesthetic fellowship with Dr. Lloyd Carlsen in Woodbridge, Ontario, and a clinical research fellowship with Dr. James Bain at the Hamilton General Hospital in Ontario. Both doctors are renowned in the field of cosmetic surgery.
In 2003, Dr. Quttainah decided to bring his practice back to the Middle East. Upon returning, he headed the Plastic Surgery Department at the Saad Specialist Hospital in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The doctor made his time as the department head memorable. He was also able to impart his knowledge to other practitioners.
Later on, he went back to Kuwait, where he successfully launched the Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, one of the first private aesthetic surgery clinics in Kuwait. The clinic was a one-stop shop, providing all cosmetic medicine and cosmetic surgery under one roof. They offer various disciplines such as cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, facial plastic surgery ENT, and LVR clinic focusing on cosmetic gynecology. The clinic also tackles surgical weight loss through bariatric surgery, non-surgical weight loss, a dedicated diet department, laser treatments, skincare and anti-aging procedures, hair care, and transplantation.
Their business model is proved to be extremely successful because patients seeking cosmetic enhancements can get multiple procedures done in one venue. Other clinics are adapting it both in the Middle East and in the international scene.
Dr. Quttainah had other pursuits after the success of his first clinic. He went on to open multiple enterprises, and in 2016, he finally established the Quttainah Medical Center (QMC). With over 20 years of experience in the field of cosmetic medicine, Dr. Quttainah personally oversees the development of QMC. His expertise ensures that the institution provides the highest standards of care for every patient. Today, QMC is the leading aesthetic surgery institution in the Middle East.
In a couple of months, the medical expert is looking toward opening clinics in Dubai and Qatar to accommodate the flock of patients from all over the Arabian Gulf.
