There is nothing that he can’t do. After a long, winding career that snaked through the sports, business, and entertainment industries, Obi Nwankwo is sitting down, ready to tell his story in his upcoming self-help book, “From Corporate Handcuffs to Hollywood Freedom.”
Jack of All Trades and Master of All Obi Nwankwo is multi-faceted and has built an unassailable reputation anchored on his versatility and exceptional ability to adapt and conquer. Carrying an intriguing mix of experience in his portfolio, it’s apparent that Obi excels and raises the bar in everything he sets his mind to.
Before being recognized as the dynamic powerhouse he is now, Obi attended the esteemed Boston College on a track scholarship where he studied Finance, Management, and Leadership. The student-athlete’s college life was a great start to his celebrated career.
At Boston College, he competed in the 300 and 400-meter events and admirably broke seven different school records. His unwavering passion for Track and commitment to the sport made him an exemplary character for his peers. Obi Nwankwo continued to pursue Track after graduation, even continuing to train as an Olympic athlete.
Despite a rigorous exercise routine that tested physical and mental fitness, Obi was wholly unprepared for the split road that would soon come up his path. He was now faced with a difficult choice – to be a professional athlete or launch a consulting career. The former student-athlete chose the latter.
Entering the corporate world, Obi Nwankwo began consulting at Ernst & Young, where he honed his skills and sharpened his abilities. The widely-recognized jack of all trades later developed his trade at Accenture Boston, where he continued to grow his impact.
It was during his time at the company that he discovered the fun in modeling. Placing one foot in the entertainment world, Obi decided to send his headshots to multiple agencies and was almost immediately cast in an ad for ESPN. This would mark the start of a brilliant new adventure.
Developing an interest and a taste for the industry, Obi Nwankwo transferred to Los Angeles to secure more modeling opportunities. As he began to spend more time in his new endeavor, another dilemma caught up to the talented consultant – was it going to be the business industry or the entertainment business? Obi, once again, went for the latter.
He resigned from Ernst & Young and began pursuing modeling full-time. As if a fish in water, Obi fit right in, and his career soared with his name making rounds in exclusive circles and his face plastered on countless platforms. As a model, Obi Nwankwo was featured in multiple campaigns for high-end brands such as Puma, Bose, Gucci, and more.
Obi then expanded his modeling career into Hollywood and acting, where he was welcomed with deafening applause. He went on to receive numerous roles in crowd-favorite Netflix shows such as “Dear White People” and “Family Time.”
Since taking a big step into the entertainment industry, Obi Nwankwo has been featured in an array of notable projects in the music world, including “Kings of Style” with ASAP Rocky and Dapper Dan, Justin Timberlake’s “Man of the Woods Tour,” and in Tyler the Creator’s Grammy performance.
Having run competitions, stride through corporate doors, and walk on stage, jack of all trades and master of all Obi Nwankwo has quite the story to tell. At present, he is working on his first self-help book, “From Corporate Handcuffs to Hollywood Freedom,” which combines autobiographical narratives and self-growth lessons to guide readers in achieving their goals and aspirations.
