Apart from looking good, there are many mental and physical benefits to staying active. Helping reduce the risk of a heart attack, manage weight, and lower blood pressure, to name a few. It also provides a healthier state of mind to people by lifting their moods and changing levels of chemicals in the brain, like serotonin, endorphins, and stress hormones.
To stay physically active, people try to find professional trainers like Michael Soares, who can help them improve certain parts of their bodies and get advice on maintaining their physique. Michael’s desire to help people started when he was in high school.
He was a high soaring basketball and volleyball player at Milford High. While playing basketball, he endured physical therapy after suffering a slight meniscus tear. It was a difficult time for the young athlete as he felt he belonged on the court. His team’s trainer understood him and helped him set up a goal for a quick recovery and gave him hope.
Because of his love for helping other people and making a positive impact in the lives of others, he went on to major in Exercise Science at Bridgewater State University. While studying, he continued to play basketball. During his stay there, Michael interned at a few different physical therapy locations such as Physical Therapy U and athletic training centers such as Athletic Republic Norwood. He found that he enjoyed the fast pace in personal training and realized that he wanted to strive in that environment.
In his senior year, Michael secured a job after he graduated in 2017. Michael also completed multiple certifications, including ISSA certification, Pre/Post Natal Certification, and Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification.

Since then, Michael has over 200 clients, ranging from Olympians to professional athletes to musicians to his mother. He makes sure that each training program is unique and well-suited to his client’s individual needs. The program has been proven to be effective, as many of his clients have dropped over 20-plus pounds.
Michael’s popularity rose as he often found people reaching out to him on social media about training. He found it challenging to free up his time to meet and train everyone, so he came up with the idea to start an online training business called the New Human.
New Human allowed Michael to continue to grow and help more people while. To help with the growth of the app, Michael has created a team of seven coaches to help him. Together, they help people who want to maximize their lives. The team also trains clients privately via Zoom, running virtual bodyweight workouts and yoga sessions. Michael and his team donate a percentage of what his platform makes to different children’s health foundations.
