This year’s Business for Africa forum will take place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt and it features three
programs targeting Infrastructure, Finance and Energy. There will be a young entrepreneur’s day and
a highly charged meeting of African women who will discuss various means of empowering women in
Africa. This will culminate in a Gala Dinner to recognize the incredible African women and celebrate their
The event lasts two days and it features a presidential panel and high-level talks. With Egypt trying to
take over the chair of the African Union next year, President Abel Fattah Al Sisi will host two roundtable
sessions to help structure the African private sector agenda for the coming year as well as look into ways
of strengthening the cross-border relationships and collaborations. At least 5 African heads of state and
the government is scheduled to be in attendance at the event and this will include President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi of Egypt, Emmerson Mwangagwa of Zimbabwe, Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger, Faure Gnassingbe of Togo and Paul Kagame of Rwanda.
There are also successful African business leaders scheduled to speak at the event and this will include
the richest woman in Africa, Isabel dos Santos, the richest man in Algeria Issad Rebrab and Nigerian
cement mogul, Abdulsamad Rabiu.
The forum is in its third year and it has been a platform where businessmen and women can come
together to build new relationships and partnerships amongst themselves and investors. The forum will
offer businessmen and women the opportunity to talk with African political leaders and policymakers
on novel ways to improve the business climate across the continent. There will also an avenue for
entrepreneurs to pitch their businesses and business ideas to investors from within and outside Africa.
Over 1500 delegates from over 40 countries will be in attendance.
The event is put together by Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation in
collaboration with the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Regional Investment
The Africa business forum this year will be under the distinguished patronage of Egyptian president
Abdel Fattah Al Sisi on the 8th and 9th of December 2018 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. It promises to be a
very important and history changing event that will bring new innovations to Africa.
