Timoi’s Eco-conscious Utility Brand Creates A Community For Everyone

Susana De Leon’s Timoi strives to motivate and bring happiness to its customers while remaining eco-conscious.

How often do you come across someone whose art completely captivates you? Susana, popularly known as Timoi, is one such artist. They are conceptual artists known for their motley characters with big wide eyes. The personalities of the characters are what set them apart from everyone else in the industry. They are a lifestyle artist brand, offering novelty items, gifts, apparel, art and accessories featuring Timoi’s art through an online store. 

How Was Timoi Created?

At the age of 6, Susana De Leon began creating art and became interested in graffiti art when they were 15 years old. When they were 19, Susana wanted a unique name for writing graffiti. One night, they drew something and titled it, “Trapped In My Own Imagination.” Susana fell in love with the acronym and decided to sign every piece of art with TIMOI after that. Timoi created their first graffiti character, Calo, after they dreamt of the cute, big bright-eyed character telling them their story and suggesting to Timoi that they had to paint them and grow with it. 

In January 2021, Timoi, a non-binary artist, launched the brand with their sister, Maritza Valdez, and her husband, Alfonso Valdez. Timoi is a well-known graffiti artist who serves as an inspiration to many young artists. Timoi, a social issues activist, is an advocate for mental health and LGBTQ+.

More Than Just Art

Timoi’s products are made to order, meaning they are created from the ground up whenever an order is accepted. This allows them to provide top-of-the-line products while reducing their environmental impact. They also offer plus sizes. Timoi also sells digital NFT art. They believe in quality over quantity, and thus every piece is a work of art that also serves a purpose.

They serve the young, and young at heart who appreciate art and all things cute and kawaii. Most of their audiences enjoy music, festivals, and raves. They are well-known among followers of alternative fashion and art. Their target audience is primarily made up of women, LGBTQ people, some men, fans of comic cons, anime, Japanese, and American pop culture.

Timoi will be featured as an artist in the LA Rising Star art show, which will take place from June 4, 2022, to July 2, 2022, at the Hive Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. Timoi is currently working on paintings for the show, as well as new designs for their fashion collections. Timoi has also recently created a mural at Muscle Beach Venice, which can be seen early in the morning or late at night.

Timoi is more than just a fashion brand. It was founded by a non-binary person, a woman, and a man, and incorporates art with an eco-friendly utility brand and a supportive, inclusive community. It welcomes people of all races, ethnicities, and genders. Timoi is also very immersed in the metaverse and began early in 2021, making it one of the first brands to embrace NFTs.
