ArtTour International is the leading premier multimedia platform for artists around the globe. It accommodates the international exposure needed by artist-activists in promoting both their craft and their respective social, environmental, or peace-related issues.
Artistic activism is a dynamic and creative practice that uses the power of art in inculcating strong emotions and feelings within individuals, thereby inspiring them to bring about positive social, environmental, or peaceful change. This combination is unusual as art and activism primarily produce different effects in the world.
With activism, the end is discernible as the activists strive to challenge the existing power relations and change the unjust status quo. ArtTour International has become a leading voice in helping artists activists to achieve their goal of promoting awareness of social and environmental issues. Art either sparks a feeling moves individuals emotionally or introduces an artist’s perspective, and that is what artists are doing in ArtTour International’s platforms.
Activism strives for change in the physical world by resolving social strife, while art influences a person’s heart and mind. Despite these seemingly contrasting purposes, art and activism can be interdependent. After all, social change does not occur without passionate activists who understand injustices in society and call upon those in power to act accordingly.
Given this revolutionary philosophy, the artist-founders of ArtTour International Magazine established this international platform to provide a voice for activist artists in the world. They believe in the potential of the unique messages of artists worldwide and want to help them share their advocacies. In doing so, the magazine presents editorial articles in their print and digital magazine featuring various visual and performing artists.
To enrich the editorial features in their print and digital publication, ArtTour International showcases video interviews of the featured artists in their popular social media platforms and their ArtTour International TV Show on Spectrum 1993 in New York City.
With over 2.1 million readers of their high-quality print and state-of-the-art digital publications, ten million viewers of their weekly show, and 200 thousand followers on social media, maximum international exposure is guaranteed for the artists in all stages of their careers, their artworks, and their activist messages.
Viviana Puello, the founder, and Editor-in-Chief of ArtTour International Magazine, originally comes from Colombia and grew up in New York. During the years, Puello has become an internationally acclaimed curator and art writer recognized for her work promoting the arts globally. She spent a decade around Italy, cultivating her expertise in the art scene. ArtTour International publishes six issues every year, three of which are dedicated to peace awareness and intercultural exchange while the other three are reserved for environmental conservation. They also keep up with the times and create relevant content for their diverse readership. In light of the recent declaration of the Coronavirus pandemic and George Floyd’s death due to prevalent racism and police brutality, ArtTour International’s Summer 2020 issue will adopt the themes on Healing with the Arts, and Black Lives Matter.
The Summer 2020 issue will be available on the shelves of Barnes and Noble stores and 1,200 newspaper outlets worldwide. For more information, visit their official website and keep up with the latest updates by following ArtTour International Magazine through Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
